Beverly Brahan - Associate Executive Director

     Beverly Brahan is a fourteen (14) year middle school reading/social studies teacher from the Jackson Public School District, Brahan began her involvement in Association activities with the Jackson Association of Educators (JAE). She began serving as the Secretary for the 750-member JAE in 1995, Vice-President in 1997, and President from 1998-2001. Brahan was elected President of the Mississippi Association of Educators in 2001.


     A native of Alabama, Brahan attended public schools in Birmingham and college at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Beverly believes that “quality public schools in every Mississippi community are the building blocks to creating a strong economy that ensures a better quality of life for all Mississippians.”
