Elementary Teachers:

  • must have bachelor's degree
  • must have Class A Education License
  • must teach in a grade covered by license


Middle/High School Teachers: (reading, English, language, arts, math, science, foreign language, civics, government, economics, arts, history or geograph)

  • must have bachelor's degree
  • must have Class A Education License with an endorsement for every academic subject taught


How Do I Obtain an Endorsement?

  • pass Praxis II OR
  • become National Board Certified in each academic subject taught OR
  • have Master's degree in each of the academic subjects taught OR
  • for grade 5-8, acquire continuing education units (CEU) through the MS Dept. of Educations's Middle School Institute OR
  • take additional college hours to fulfill content requirement for major-21 hours
