MAE/NEA Student Members have an elected representative on the MAE Board of Directors and the NEA Board of Directors, and they serve as delegates to the state and national Representative Assemblies.
- Legal Representation
MAE Student Members are covered by the same liability insurance, legal services, and attorney referral as active members. Whether you are in the classroom observing or student teaching, you are covered.
- Scholarships
MAE offers three scholarships for students pursuing a career in education and committed to teaching in Mississippi.
- Dues and Benefits
MAE Student dues are $21.00. This entitles them to most of the benefits and services enjoyed by full time teachers who are active members.

- Dues and Benefits
ESP dues are $194.00 and can be paid at one time or in bank draft installments of $19.40 per month for 10 months. This entitles them to the benefits and services explained in detail elsewhere on the web site.
Higher Education Membership
MAE/NEA puts strength and experience of educational advocacy to work for faculty and staff. MAE/NEA has the largest college and university faculty membership in Mississippi and represents higher education personnel on campus, in the state legislature and in Washington D.C.
The cohesiveness if our Higher Ed membership is particularly important now in light of the constant challenges to our professional and economic future.

Another option is to pay $60.00 per year for every year following your retirement.
